Tom is a lifelong Democrat
|
"As a lifelong Democrat, I
have come to believe that our party knows and appreciates the needs of the
people of the 30th District," notes Tom, who is serving his 19th term as
state representative.
"During my 38 years in office,
I have come to more fully appreciate what can be done when our party has a
strong majority," reflects Tom. "With the dissatisfaction many of us have with
the Republican party leadership, both at the state and national levels, it's
time the people spoke out by giving the Democrats a strong mandate.
Representative Burch has become the longest currently serving member
of either house of the Kentucky
General Assembly. "There's no secret to my longevity," says Burch. "When you put
family and children first, you represent the core values of the people of the
30th District, and that's what I've been elected to do."

"State Rep. Tom Burch has name recognition, the power of
incumbency, a huge edge in Democratic Party registration and far more campaign
funds than his opponent, whom he defeated handily two years ago."

Kentucky law permits mailing an absentee
ballot for persons who due to age, disability or illness will be unable to
go to the polls on election day. Military personnel, students and others who
will not be in the county on election day may also
qualify for using a
mail-in ballot. The mail-in deadline is seven days before the election.
For details about who qualifies for absentee
voting, download the small PDF file at right.
Residents who will be out of the county on
election day can make plans to come to the Jefferson County Board of
Elections and cast a ballot.
